Hopeful man with beard

If you are a practicing Jew, suffering from substance use, then going to a nonobservant rehabilitation treatment center program may not be an option. Some centers won’t take steps to provide kosher foods, and others may not offer Jewish religious services or activities.

Recovery at the Crossroads is a kosher rehab facility.

It’s important to have access to a kosher rehab center in a community where you have a sense of belonging and comfort. At Recovery at the Crossroads, in New Jersey, we promote Jewish values and we can help by providing you with a kosher addiction treatment plan that will support your recovery.

What Is Kosher Substance Abuse Treatment?

Many in the Jewish community don’t feel comfortable talking about addiction or their need for help with substance abuse. Unfortunately, statistics have shown an increase in the number of Jewish people who are struggling with addiction or from mental health disorders that can cause Dual Diagnosis.

Going to a kosher recovery center is one way to surround yourself with the comfort of your faith and the fellowship of your community while getting the addiction treatment you need.  Recovery at the Crossroads provides clients, suffering from addictions, programs that will take root in your Jewish faith.

What Happens in the Program?

Like any substance abuse rehabilitation program, in New Jersey,  kosher addiction treatment follows a simple structure:

  • Detoxification;
  • Psychological and physical health care;
  • Aftercare

Our Jewish rehabilitation facility is set up to support your personal, cultural and religious beliefs as well as your health care needs.

Kosher Diet Plans

A standard part of your Jewish drug rehabilitation program is a kosher dietary plan.

All meals are Glatt Kosher. We will help you maintain your regular diet by offering kosher foods such as:

  • Meats;
  • Dairy products, including yogurt and ice cream;
  • Vegetables and fruits;
  • Grains, bread and pasta;
  • Snacks and desserts;
  • Coffee, tea and other beverages

We have a fully stocked kashrut kitchen. We believe that a healthy diet plan is critical in helping you consume the vital nutrients you need to boost your health after struggling with addiction. Eating healthy, kosher foods is a great way to build up your body and its immune system, since you may currently struggle with malnutrition as a result of addiction. The right foods also boost your energy levels and improve your mood, both of which are vital to recovery. We believe in a holistic approach at our Jewish recovery center, so to go with your diet plan, we also suggest a fitness program.

Religious Services

We’ve seen first-hand the positive impact that participating in religious services and activities can have. If you are a practicing person of faith, our religious services can provide additional encouragement through this challenging time in your life. We observe Shabbos and offer Shabbat meals. Even if you’ve had a lapse in your faith, we believe that the renewed spirituality gained from these services can help boost your long-term sobriety.

Rabbi Avi Richler is our campus spiritual advisor and is available to all our clients throughout the treatment process.
